Amazing God !!!

I'm praising God for allowing my son to live and without any brain damage!!! Here is an after the accident picture at his 15th birthday party. Keep in mind that this is only 22 days after brain surgery. Amanda is always trying to keep Billy straight! LOL

Late on Sept. 3rd...what started out as a great night out with my daughter and a dear friend, turned into a night I'll never forget. Billy decided to hop on the back of a friends 4 wheeler for a quick ride home from just two doors down. He wasn't wearing a helmet and was sitting sideways, when he slipped off to his feet and was flung down to his head. He had road rash on his back and arm, but not a scratch or bump on his head. He didn't know what he was doing and got up and ran to the house, with his head in horrible pain. He doesn't remember how he got in the house, he thought he was knocked out on the couch for an hour. He was talking to us and saying I want to go to sleep...I just want to sleep! I knew then...this isn't good! Took him to emergency to find out he cracked his skull and he had a small bleed on the brain. The doctor seemed to think it would stop on it's own, but just to be sure they put him in the ambulance for a 40 min ride to UNC Chapelhill. After being checked there, we found the blood clot had more than doubled in size and was trying to squish the brain. I couldn't believe it when the Surgeon said " if I don't operate now, your son is going to die" It all happened so fast. Now it was time to put faith in action. I had to hold on to God for my son. I know God is the healer, I know that Jesus took stripes upon his back for our healing, and I know that God was there the whole time. That day changed me...I found a new kind of peace that I've never known before. When I prayed to God, I asked him to allow me to keep my son, but if it was time for him to go...it would be terribly hard, but I wanted His plan. This is the hardest thing I've ever had to pray for. But immediately, I felt God's precious peace settle in my heart. I kept quoting scripture from His word. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee. I had to learn to totally trust God with the son that he gave me to raise for Him.
After surgery Dr. Germanwala told me that everything went perfect...so I went to the ICU to see Billy with his head all wrapped in a turban. So happy to have my son alive!!

Billy is a walking, talking, laughing, miracle of God! No brain damage and totally functioning fine. He was playing pool at the hospital in the teen room only two days after surgery. Just 2 months later he has been released to basically do whatever he feels ready to do. He's READY to HUNT!! LOL And he just got done yesterday with his driving class and ready to get his permit. I'm so thankful for what God has done in our whole family through this situation. I love the Lord Jesus and I've been serving him for years, but it's amazing how something could change so fast. I've learned about what is really important in life and not to worry about the temporary things. I've learned that no matter what...God can't fail.

This is Billy's reminder of how merciful and how amazing our God really is !!!
And my reminder that GOD hears, cares, and moves in ways unspeakable !!!

Thank you God for life now and for all eternity !!!! =)
